A Blood Signature for Lung Cancer Risk
A 14-protein blood-marker panel may identify future lung-cancer risk more than five years before diagnosis.
The study links molecular signals in blood to later disease across UK Biobank participants and multiple validation cohorts. The larger opportunity is a shift from late detection toward risk-stratified molecular prevention.
Question for the audienceHow should health systems validate and responsibly implement biomarkers that predict cancer years before symptoms?
